{"id":13433,"date":"2010-10-04T23:04:10","date_gmt":"2010-10-04T21:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/?p=13433"},"modified":"2010-10-04T23:04:10","modified_gmt":"2010-10-04T21:04:10","slug":"what-is-yahoo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/2010\/10\/04\/what-is-yahoo\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Yahoo?"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start -->\n<p>I came across a somewhat old question by TechCrunch&#8217;s Michael Arrington: <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2010\/05\/28\/ok-seriously-what-is-yahoo\/\">What is Yahoo?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For me personally, Yahoo is, first of all, the company that bought most of the web services that I was using &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\">Flickr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/delicious.com\">Delicious<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/upcoming.org\">Upcoming<\/a> back in the days when I was using it. \u00a0Secondly, Yahoo for me is a company no here, no there. \u00a0I appreciate how old they are and all. \u00a0But it never seemed to be serving any specific purpose. \u00a0It used to be a bookmark website, which I used for a bit, until it got overly complicated with categories, and SPAM. \u00a0Then it became a web mail and a search engine. \u00a0Then it an instant messaging provider. \u00a0Then a purchaser of some cool web applications. \u00a0Then a web developer resource. \u00a0And then I don&#8217;t know anymore.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a long while since I went to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yahoo.com\">Yahoo.com<\/a> and something tells me that I won&#8217;t be visiting it any time soon. \u00a0What about you?<\/p>\n<!-- google_ad_section_end -->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start -->\n<p>I came across a somewhat old question by TechCrunch&#8217;s Michael Arrington: What is Yahoo?
