With all the movies coming out of the Hollywood these days, one needs some set of mental filters (aka stereotypes) to pick good films and avoid all the rest.\u00c2\u00a0 But, as with any other area of human life, stereotypes can heal and harm.\u00c2\u00a0 According to the set of movie stereotypes in my head, I was totally going to avoid the movie “Doomsday<\/a>“.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ve heard that it was about some virus outbreak, sealed contaminated area, and a bunch of people going in to find the cure.\u00c2\u00a0 That’s all I knew, and that sounded a lot like something along the lines of “28 Days Later<\/a>“, “Resident Evil<\/a>“, and many other movies.\u00c2\u00a0 Those movies, they aren’t bad, but I’ve seen enough of them.<\/p>\n Luckily, my friend and colleague Igor likes this type of movies a lot.\u00c2\u00a0 So he managed to persuade me to go and see “Doomsday”.\u00c2\u00a0 And I’m glad he did.<\/p>\n The story of the film was very much like I expected it.\u00c2\u00a0 But, we weren’t there for the story, were we?\u00c2\u00a0 It’s how one tells the story.\u00c2\u00a0 And in this type of films, it’s all about how you show infected people, their mutations, human flash, body parts, horror, black humor, and the rest of the visual effects.\u00c2\u00a0 “Doomsday” was pretty good in this regard.\u00c2\u00a0 I’d say it was a little bit more bloodier than it needed, but no serious complains in this department.<\/p>\n All that is not very important however.\u00c2\u00a0 Because “Doomsday” has something that so many other movies don’t.\u00c2\u00a0 It has the spirit.\u00c2\u00a0 The atmosphere, if you will.\u00c2\u00a0 And it suits it very well.\u00c2\u00a0 It is a very rock-n-roll movie.\u00c2\u00a0 So much rock-n-roll, that it is much closer to punk rock in its spirit (and literary, most of the characters appear to be some serious fans of punk rock music).<\/p>\n There are a few places in the movie, which are either boring or a little bit too far fetched, but, gladly, they are very few and very short.\u00c2\u00a0 In most of it, the film provides excellent entertainment and positive energy boost.\u00c2\u00a0 It is mostly funny, and hilarious at places.\u00c2\u00a0 It has excellent special effects and strong characters in it.\u00c2\u00a0 There are a few memorable quotes, including some very peculiar ways of using an F* word (the film is very British in its nature).<\/p>\n So, if you like uncensored punk rock with lots of fun, if you are not easily destabilized by motion pictures, if you don’t truly belief that people in the movie suffer in pain or die in pieces, if you welcome the creativity of the creator even if it is a little bit out of your bounds sometimes, if you enjoyed “Mad Max<\/a>” trilogy and darker (non-romantic) side of “Waterworld<\/a>” than I strongly recommend to watch this movie.\u00c2\u00a0 You won’t regret it.<\/p>\n 7 out of 10<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\n With all the movies coming out of the Hollywood these days, one needs some set of mental filters (aka stereotypes) to pick good films and avoid all the rest.\u00c2\u00a0 But, as with any other area of human life, stereotypes can heal and harm.\u00c2\u00a0 According to the set of movie stereotypes in my head, I was … Continue reading Doomsday<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_feature_clip_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2},"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[1707,1,24],"tags":[1428,1430,1429,1427],"keyring_services":[],"class_list":["post-11102","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-4-stars","category-general","category-movies","tag-bob-hoskins","tag-craig-conway","tag-malcolm-mcdowell","tag-rhona-mitra"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t![\"Doomsday](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/doomsday_scream.jpg?w=660&ssl=1\")
