{"id":10878,"date":"2007-10-31T10:46:09","date_gmt":"2007-10-31T07:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/2007\/10\/31\/three-things-to-like-about-wikimapia\/"},"modified":"2007-10-31T10:46:09","modified_gmt":"2007-10-31T07:46:09","slug":"three-things-to-like-about-wikimapia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/2007\/10\/31\/three-things-to-like-about-wikimapia\/","title":{"rendered":"Three things to like about WikiMapia"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start -->\n<p>Here are three things that I like about <a href=\"http:\/\/wikimapia.org\">WikiMapia<\/a> :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s brings together the excellence of <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/\">Google Maps<\/a> and the social power of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wiki\">Wiki<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 The results are better than anywhere else.\u00c2\u00a0 Even <a href=\"http:\/\/wikimapia.org\/#lat=35.090698&amp;lon=33.5495&amp;z=9&amp;l=0&amp;m=a&amp;v=2\">Cyprus<\/a>, which usually gets little attention on the web, is covered pretty good.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s easy to add landmarks and notes.\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s something I really missed so far on Google Maps, where I can just see maps and search for geographical locations.\u00c2\u00a0 With WikiMapia, I can find something, mark it down with the notes, and then send the link to somebody else.\u00c2\u00a0 I won&#8217;t need to provide the instructions like &#8220;find two major roads crossing at the bottom of this map and then follow the one that goes up until second turn on the right.
