{"id":10859,"date":"2007-10-12T12:31:51","date_gmt":"2007-10-12T09:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/2007\/10\/12\/real-estate-property-types\/"},"modified":"2007-10-12T12:31:51","modified_gmt":"2007-10-12T09:31:51","slug":"real-estate-property-types","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/2007\/10\/12\/real-estate-property-types\/","title":{"rendered":"Real estate property types"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start -->\n<p>For the last few month, I&#8217;m working very near real estates industry.\u00c2\u00a0 The whole thing is pretty confusing even here, in Cyprus, where it&#8217;s in its infancy.\u00c2\u00a0 One of the small, but important things that I always feel confused about are property types.\u00c2\u00a0 What is a condo?\u00c2\u00a0 How is a villa different from a bungalow?\u00c2\u00a0 And so on and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>Today I said &#8211; &#8220;Enough&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 I have to figure this stuff out.\u00c2\u00a0 Even if I will forget it all a moment later, I still have to run it through my brain. \u00c2\u00a0 But where to get the definitions?\u00c2\u00a0 Each web site seems to have its own idea of which types are out there and what each of them means.\u00c2\u00a0 Then I suddenly remembered about &#8220;define:&#8221; Google searches.\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t use it very often, but it saved me lots of time on several occasions.\u00c2\u00a0 Today is just one such occasion.\u00c2\u00a0 Here are the links to Google definitions of the most commonly used property types with my short summary notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=define%3Ahouse\">house<\/a> &#8211; that&#8217;s as generic as it can get.\u00c2\u00a0 House is just about anything from detached to semi-detached, from village house to villa, through bungalow.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=define%3Aapartment\">apartment<\/a> &#8211; this one is also generic. Usually, this is a block of one or more rooms on a single floor of an apartment building.\u00c2\u00a0 There are many variations, of course.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=define%3Aflat\">flat<\/a> &#8211; this is exactly the same as an apartment.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s just another word for it, used in some countries.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=define%3Apenthouse\">penthouse<\/a> &#8211; this is a kind of apartment, which is usually at the top of the building.\u00c2\u00a0 Often, it is an expensive one,\u00c2\u00a0 because of the view and some outdoor space on the roof.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=define%3Astudio\">studio<\/a> &#8211; a kind of a small apartment.\u00c2\u00a0 Think of it as a zero bedroom apartment.\u00c2\u00a0 Either it has no bedroom, or its kitchen is somehow integrated into a living room.
