More on diet

I think I’ve decided on the diet.

There is one that goes something like this: eat whatever you want, but no later than 18:00. I’ve checked it up and it seems to work good. The only problem with it is that my dayly routine is not scheduled very well. My office shifts vary greatly from 7am-16pm, through 15pm-midnight, to 23pm-8am. There is practically no repeation weekly and I can’t plan very well for the future.

So, I am going to modify the original slightly: last meal (food intake) should be at least 5 hours before sleep time. It sounds reasonable.

Also, I am going to alter my food a bit. I am going to make an effort to stay away from bread, spaghetti, and other bread-like items. Also, I am going to decrease the amount of sugar and salt that I eat. No alcohol, except for big occasions. Not even beer. Less fat (beef instead of pork, etc).

Of course, any diet is as good as one can keep it. So, I will allow exceptions once in a while, just to stay sane. But, on a big scale, I am going to it less, and excersize more. From what I hear – this is the only good way to lose those kilos.

  1. And you need a lot of water. About 2 litres a day.
Try to drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up and a glass before you go to bed. You can drink a glass of dry wine during your meal (not more that two ones a day and only during having lunch or dinner). You needn’t be hungry, just eat something light. And eat a lot of vegetables except potatoes. If you want some sweet you can eat a little chocolate, with 70% and more chocolate. And move a lot. None of French women are on a diet but they follow these rules. By the way not to eat after 18p.m. is not useful.
    Good luck!

  2. Ma,

Thanks for the advice. But with all due respect, I am not a French woman. :)

I have been living and eating without any care for my body for the last few years. Because of that it is now in a very bad shape, so I have to bring it back to normal.

In order to do that, I have to follow a few simple rules. But the main principle is “Eat less, work out more.”.

Water is NOT a good thing for the moment, because water is one of the main components of fat. If I drink less water, than my body will break up fat that I have and use that water.

Sweets are bad, because they contain a lot of carbohydrates, which are another huge part of fat.

Not eating after 18:00 IS useful and IS recommended by a lot of people in the know. The idea here is to digest all food before going to bed, because the way the body works changes during sleep. And the way it works during sleep helps to accomodate fat, not burn it.

Alcohol is strictly forbidden at this stage. Otherwise I can greatly damage my liver and kidneys. Plus it’s an unwanted lequid too.
