Ok, this was a really really weak movie. There was practically nothing to watch at all – terrible story, terrible acting, no thrill – nothing.
If it wasn’t for a few nice car chases, I’d switch this film off or would fall asleep less than half the movie through. But the chases were not bad. There is something capturing and engaging in a powerful and styly 70-ies sports car drifting on the tarmac of the roundabout, circle after circle after circle. With some AC/DC tunes accompanying it. Sweet.
But the rest, as I said, was worthless. There was a chance of another cheap improvement to the movie with topless babes, but those were not as often as they should’ve been. And their total screen time stayed under 5 seconds, which can’t be good either.
And this part I really don’t get. I mean, this film is a re-make of an old film and/or TV-series that were popular back then. There is a lot of energy about the sports cars and the 70-sies. But what 70-sies films lacked were naked babes. People weren’t as spoiled back than as they are now. And those few seconds that they saw nude female bodies were (probably) more than enough for them. But the 21 century is different. And the audience is different. And if there is one thing directors should change in re-makes of old movies, its the nudity issue. Otherwise, they are just re-shooting the same old crap.
