Wayne’s World

Wayne's World (1992)I am back at self-education. It looks like I’ve been missing a huge world out there – Saturday Night Live. It is a foundation of modern American comedy, if you haven’t heard about it. It’s not just a television show. It is a very interconnected group of people who have and share fun in more ways than one. “Wayne’s World” is one of the movies that involves many SNL’s people.

Directed by: Penelope Spheeris
Genres: Comedy
Cast: Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Rob Lowe, Tia Carrere, Brian Doyle-Murray, Lara Flynn Boyle, Michael DeLuise, Dan Bell, Lee Tergesen, Kurt Fuller, Sean Gregory Sullivan, Colleen Camp, Donna Dixon, Frederick Coffin, Michael G. Hagerty
IMDB raintg: 6.8
My rating: 6.5 [rate 6.5]

It’s a comedy, I’ll tell you that. A bit strange one, but a comedy. It has some very funny scenes – like that romantic Cantonese speaking episode, or the fragment about people selling out, or that really brief reference to the Terminator 2. But it also lacks good connection between those scenes. It makes the film very … hmm… amplitudic. :)

Overall I enjoyed it. I smiled a lot and I even laughed quite a few times. And since it is a PG rated film I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Mike Myers’ kind of humor.
