And it was an excellent movie. It’s based on a good story which almost felt like reading a book. All characters were fully developed and felt like real people. There was this sense that they really had a life before they got into the story. Not many movies go into creating this feeling.
As I mentioned above, the casting was excellent – Robert De Niro, Jean Reno, Sean Bean, et al. They all did their parts very well. Except maybe for Natascha McElhone, who was rather boring. Luckily she didn’t have too much of screen time.
There were many things about this film that I liked. There was some charm. Mystery. Lots of action. But one thing that amazed me the most was the car chase. It was one of the best car chase sequences that I’ve seen. The makers of the film really went out of their way to make it stand out. In some places, I couldn’t believe my eyes. And it looked like the two cars were driving through a living city with traffic jams, accidents, and people all over the place. It felt very real too. Here is the tip from trivia page:
80 automobiles were destroyed during filming.
Resume: excellent action movie. Highly recommended.
