I have to say that this is one of his trademark movies – the comedy, the romance, and a couple of morale issues that are brought up in a somewhat naive way. But it’s all good.
I don’t share all the fun though. Rob’s sense of humor is only partially compatible with mine. But the compatibility area is good enough for me to enjoy the films and not to get disgusted at all. He also seems to find interesting situations in the simplistic environments and tries to work the setups to all the details. For example, in this film (he is also credited as a screenplay writer) he plays a gigolo. He attempts to show women with different “ugly” sides and how these “ugly” sides can be “normalized”. He doesn’t stop at one or two examples. Instead he explores the issue with more dignity. He shows people with both physical and psychological disorders of varying seriousness. He also jokes around these things pretty accurately.
Anyway, I enjoyed the film and had a few laughs. If you like other Rob Shneider’s films, watch this one – it’s well inline with his other works.
