The film is old. It is from 1962 and it was made in black and white. It also has a lot of characteristics of the old movies – light works, camera angles, weird acting, etc. But the story was rather revolutionary at those times.
The movie brings up the issues of racism and justice in a way that not many films dare to bring up. Considering that the film was made back in 1962, I think it was even slightly ahead of times.
I also was surprised to see how the court of law was shown. It was a very recognisable picture – from the crowds to the defender’s closing speech. I’ve seen all these in many other films which were made after, but I haven’t seen anything like this in the film which were made before this one.
