The Victory Day

Today is the 60th anniversary of The Victory Day. In 1945 the World War II has ended with capitulation of German army. This is one of the biggest holidays in Russia, as well as about 40 other countries.

I want to congratulate all those people who participated in the war and who are alive today, as well as remember those who died both in battles and afterwards. Thank you all.

I think it is important to pass the war stories to the coming generations. Most of the kids born these days won’t know any veterans of the Second World War, so it is upon their parents to deliver the knowledge of the horrors that wars bring. This war must be remembered.

There is an excellent resource – Pobeditely.ru – which shows the history of the war in a simple and clear way. It also lists a lot of people who participated in the war.
