Sideways

Sideways (2004)I was in a mood for some light and entertaining film, so I picked up “Sideways” which was marked as comedy, romance, and drama with high rating. I thought it was one of those nicely done romantic comedies with some sadness to it.

I was wrong. It was an excellent drama. And although I wasn’t in the mood for one, I couldn’t stop watching it until it was all over. A really amazing film.

The story was all within a single character, who was brilliantly delivered by Paul Giamatti. I always knew he was a good actor, but in this film he is way better than anywhere I’ve seen him. Great job! The rest of the characters were pretty weak though. They had good parts and were really trying, but it was simply a wrong cast.
