Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)Since I’ve been choosing a lot of average movies to watch lately, I decided to get something that I saw already, that I knew is good, and that I wouldn’t mind too much watching again. “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” was a perfect match.

Directed by: Frank Oz
Genres: Comedy, Crime
Cast: Steve Martin, Michael Caine, Glenne Headly, Anton Rodgers, Barbara Harris, Ian McDiarmid, Dana Ivey, Meagen Fay, Frances Conroy, Nicole Calfan, Aïna Walle, Cheryl Pay, Nathalie Auffret, Lolly Susi, Rupert Holliday-Evans
IMDB raintg: 6.9
My rating: 7.3 [rate 7.3]

I must have seen this film a hundred times or so. But that was way too long ago. I also saw only the translated version. When I saw this DVD in the rentals, I immediately wanted to watch the film again, in the original (that’s English) soundtrack. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Both Steve Martin and Michael Caine perform excellently and offer a lot not only to see, but to hear. I especially enjoyed Caine’s German and Australian accents. Outstanding!

Anyway, if you haven’t seen this movie (although I think there are just a few people like that on this planet), you should rent it from the closest DVD club. It is a properly done comedy with good jokes per minute ratio, which is kept as a constant during the course of the film.
